Audio Record Wizard

If you can hear it on your computer’s speakers, you can record it with the Audio Record Wizard software application. This is an audio recording utility that will record from a variety of sources. Plug in your mic and record yourself. Start playing a game or start an audio conversation with someone using your favorite messenger application and record it with Audio Record Wizard. No matter where the sound comes from, this application will record it.

3.5MB is the size of the Audio Record Wizard installation file. Once you have the file, run it and click through the setup wizard to install it on your machine. You can install Audio Record Wizard on 32 and 64-bit editions of Windows, from the now quite old XP up to Windows 8.

To help you figure out the interface and to help you understand how to use the application, you are presented with a “Step-by-step Guide” when you launch Audio Record Wizard for the first time. The guide will present the buttons on the interface and will tell you how to start a recording. Even without this guide, you could easily figure out how the interface works.

Starting a recording is a simple three step process: pick the recording device, give the recording a name and pick where to save it, click the Record button from the bottom left hand corner. The level meter in the upper right hand corner will move as the application is recording. To end the recording, press the Stop button. Double click on the recording in the list and Audio Record Wizard will start playing it. Right click it to view a few more options, like Remove from Disk and Open File Location.

That is the manual way of recording sound. You can also have Audio Record Wizard automatically record sound for you. You can schedule recording tasks to launch and stop at a specific time. The tasks can be run one time or daily (every Monday, every Tuesday, and so on).

Audio Record Wizard is only free to try: the trial version will not record more than 3 minutes.
